Our mission is to empower our community to take action towards a better future. Through advocacy, education, and public policy analysis, we strive to create a safer, more equitable, and more sustainable Shutesbury.

Welcome to SEAT — the Shutesbury Eco Action Team. We’re a local initiative focused on building transformational resilience in our community—by strengthening both our natural environment and the human relationships that sustain it.
At SEAT, “Eco” means more than the environment—it means ecosystem in the broadest sense. Ecosystems exist all around us: in forests and wetlands, in our town, and in the networks of people, ideas, and relationships that shape our daily lives. Everything is connected.
SEAT exists to foster shifts in perspective. We create space for informed, respectful dialogue grounded in science, social justice advocacy, and democratic values. Our goal is simple: to turn awareness into connection, and connection into action.
